The story of the BOAR distillery in the Black Forest is that of a simple, down-to-earth wish: only being satisfied by the best. Only the finest botanicals and purest raw materials find a selected place in our composition for enjoyment – in every note, every nuance, in every moment. The Black Forest deep well water sipped from our own well lends our distillates a particular mildness, mineral-rich, natural.

Here with us, in the middle of the heart of the Black Forest, at the beginning of the Rench Valley, distilling is a very old tradition. Recipes were developed, thrown away, changed, refined and perfected.

All of our products are handmade and produced in small charges, just like our family has done it since 1844. THE BOAR EFFECT

Botanical Treasures of the Past

On our path to the finished distillate, we discovered a botanical treasure from the past – the original Black Forest truffle. Its once-vivid history abruptly ended under National Socialism in the previous century, with the German Reichsnaturschutzgesetz [National Nature Protection Law]. The truffle was forgotten – until recently. But it existed under the earth, untouched. Since its discovery, the truffle has played a very decisive role in the total composition of BOAR Gin. It gives the total composition of botanicals an unbelievable volume and creates a sonorous moment of pleasure, free of causticity and bitter substances.

Symphony of elements

For aficionados, the truffle can be perceived in the fine finish; for gin fans, the moment of pleasure is significantly extended until it gently tapers off and lingers in the mouth. We call this symphony of elements the BOAR effect – when pleasure becomes an experience.
